Disclaimers: Students, in consultation with their parents/guardians, their home school guidance counselors and their academic guidance departments, are responsible for selecting the courses that will be administered at St. Patrick Summer Evening Academy. St. Patrick Summer Evening Academy will not be held liable for courses that are chosen in error by either the student or parent/guardian. It is therefore the responsibility of the student and parent/guardian to provide a detailed description of all courses to St. Patrick Summer Evening Academy for review prior to registration to ensure that the registered courses meet the hourly requirements and academic requirements required for said course. Students should seek advice regarding their course selections, hourly and academic course content from their subject teachers and the Guidance Department of their home school. Identified students are advised to consult with their Special Education teachers before making their selections. It is also recommended that students speak with teachers to ensure their selections are appropriate for their learning needs. Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to consider the abilities and interests of the student, prerequisites and diploma requirements, and post-secondary goals when making course selections. It is important to make these course selections carefully, as these choices will make up the student's timetable for the 2007-2008 calendar years. Once classes begin in June, students will not have an option to change or reselect a course. Students will have 3 days after classes begin to make necessary course changes. The administrative fee for all course changes is $7.00 and will not vary no matter the circumstance. However students should be aware that changes may not be possible if courses are full or if the timetable is beyond the 3 day course change timetable If a course is selected in error by the student and/or parent/guardian the fee for course changes will be automatically applied and will also be subject to late fees and penalties. It is hereby stated that St. Patrick Summer Evening Academy will not be held liable or responsible for obtaining academic course content. It is solely the responsibility of the student to select the proper courses with regard to course description, course level, course content or course hourly requirements. Any student failing to comply with St. Patrick Summer Evening Academy's course requirements regarding dress code, classroom conduct or standards of behavior will be in jeopardy of losing their credit and may be asked to leave. There are no refunds. It is the discretion of the Director of St. Patrick Summer Evening Academy as to what behaviors and standards are considered unruly or unacceptable. Therefore in an effort to maintain standards regarding behavior and conduct, Fines and fees will apply if the standards are not meet in accordance with St. Patrick summer Evening Academy code of conduct. Students will be assessed fees for the following school violations Violation of school Rules. Violation of rules means engaging in conduct that violates school or departmental regulations that have been posted, publicized, or verbally instructed including provisions contained in contracts with students Violation of Federal or State Laws. Violation of federal or state laws means engaging in conduct that violates a federal or state law, including, but not limited to, laws governing alcoholic beverages, drugs, gambling, sex offenses, indecent conduct, or arson. Persistent Violations. A persistent violation means engaging in repeated conduct or action in violation of this Code. Lateness/tardiness Scholastic Dishonesty Disruptive Classroom Conduct Refusal to Identify and Comply Disorderly Conduct Illegal or Unauthorized Possession or Use of Weapons Illegal or Unauthorized Possession or Use of Drugs or Alcohol Theft, Property Damage, and Vandalism Disruptive Behavior The following sanctions may be imposed upon students or student organizations found to have violated the Code of Conduct of St. Patrick Summer Evening Academy: Verbal Warning/Unlimited Fines-Imposed per the discretion of the Director. Probation. Probation means special status with conditions imposed for a defined period of time and includes the probability of more severe disciplinary actions. Confiscation Confiscation means confiscation of goods used or possessed in violation of St. Patrick Summer Evening academy regulations or confiscation of falsified identification or identification wrongly used. Restitution Restitution means making compensation for loss, injury, or damage. Suspension Expulsion Expulsion means the permanent separation of the student from St. Patrick Summer Evening Academy. Withholding of Transcripts or Report Card without refund. |
