“For all of my life math has been my biggest academic enemy. I would try to wrap my head around the concepts, formulas, and numbers, but they still would not make sense. That finally changed last summer, when I came to the Garden State Learning Academy. My teacher there was able to explain mathematical ideas to me in a way that I could understand. He gave us hands-on instruction when we needed it, but also let us figure things out for ourselves. The half and hour drive out to Elizabeth every afternoon was definitely worth it! When I came to the program at the beginning of July, I was barely grasping the concepts of Algebra II, but by the end, I was understanding pre-calculus, thanks to my teacher and the program.
